Hooray,
The elections are over & the world seems to have survived.
I understand that every few years we have the chance to elect someone else if the incumbents are a disaster.
What I would like to see though is that the Electoral Commission keep a list of promises made by the individual leaders & base any retirement benefits on the actual achievement of these for the entire cabinet responsible for working to these promises over the term they are elected for.
In business, if the owners make a mistake we pay both in the short term & long term.
In Politics if they get it wrong, we the tax payers pay. Does not sound fair to me.
A quick thought on equal pay. I know of no industry award when the rate of pay is lower if you are female. So, it must be the top end of town that might be suffering. They are supposedly smart people. It is all down to negotiating the right deal.
